Weekly Movie News 11-15-2011


Last week I showed you how you could have a part in the making of The Dark Knight Rises and now, I am here to give you another bit of news regarding what will most likely be the biggest movie of 2012.


A 6 minute prologue to the final installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy will be exclusively shown in front of IMAX screenings of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. This news is being reported on various movie news sources around the web and was first confirmed on /film.com although Warner Brothers, the movie studio behind the franchise has not made any official announcements.

The first official trailer for the highly anticipated adaptation of The Hunger Games has been released and can be viewed on the official website. If you don't know anything about this story, you need to find out as its kind of a big deal.
Disney Pictures has announced that they will be featuring a short film involving everyone's favorite characters from last year's smash hit Tangled to be seen in front of Beauty and the Beast 3D beginning on January 13, 2012.

Local Movie News:
On November 20th, SIFF will be presenting filmmaker Warren Miller with the Golden Space Needle Award during a celebration that will honor his career.

Seattle's favorite movie theater, the Cinerama, will be showing Immortals through November 22nd and will then debut The Muppets movie the following night. Tickets for both films can be purchased on the Cinerama website.

The Capitol Hill Seattle Blog is featuring an article about a new app for both iPhone and Android devices called "Tabbedout" that allows you to open a tab at participating businesses and also pay your bill in just a few easy steps. The app can now be used at Central Cinema where I tried it out during the Kill Bill double feature last Friday and was very happy with the result.
