So, this movie will be presented as five short films which will be shown online through Machinima leading up the release of the Halo 4 video game and will then be released for sale as a stand alone feature film. The final product that will be for sale in all normal formats as well as being included in a limited edition version of Halo 4 will also contain additional footage not seen in the individual segments.
The original Halo movie that was supposed to happen several years ago was canned after Microsoft could not come to terms on a budget with Universal Studios and 20 Century Fox. "Forward Unto Dawn" was produced entirely by Microsoft through 343 Industries and will hopefully lead to more feature films down the road from within the Halo Universe and other Microsoft properties as well.
