In September of 2011, I began writing reviews and posting other articles on this here website. What started as a creative outlet with no real direction in mind has turned into a dedicated passion that I am almost afraid to even think about stepping away from at this point. The final four months of 2011 turned in to a testing ground for the content you now see on a regular basis. The site will continue to evolve and expand and I will keep posting my thoughts as long as you keep reading them.
Clearly, I am not trying to recreate the Oscars and that is in no way, shape, or form ever going to be any sort of goal for me. The Oscars, Golden Globes, and other such award type organizations serve their purpose and they act under a very interesting set of written and unwritten guidelines that honestly don't mean a whole lot to me.
What matters to me more than anything is the emotion you feel during the movie, immediately after the movie ends, and how long those feelings stick with you. Of course, acting, cinematography, direction, score, and all that stuff are important, but I am not going to dwell on the intricate details of each of them to decide whether I like a movie or not.
The reason the ten movies below have made this list is because each and every one of them provides a truly enjoyable experience in their own unique way. You will also find a list of ten more movies that I really liked as well as a few I really didn't enjoy, and finally a list of actors and actresses that provided the most memorable performances.
Thank you for reading the reviews that I post on this website, I really appreciate the time you choose to spend with me and my thoughts.
