In an effort to get more reviews posted in a timely manner, I have created the "MiniView" which is a less comprehensive yet still informative version of my normal movie reviews. You'll still get the basic info and a solid recap of what I thought of the movie, I just won't go into quite as much detail.
Rio 2 continues the adventures of Blu and Jewel along with all of their friends and family. The pair head off to the Amazon with their kids in tow after discovering how they may not be the last of their kind after all. The list of voice talent in this movie includes Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, Leslie Mann, Jamie Foxx, Will I Am, Bruno Mars, Jane Lynch, Rodrigo Santoro, George Lopez, Tracy Morgan, Andy Garcia, and Kristin Chenoweth. Yeah, just a few people.
For a kids movie and a sequel, this movie does its job just fine. The animation is beautifully rendered and the variety of characters keeps things interesting enough to keep the younger audience at attention. I didn't really think much of the story, but the kids in the theater seemed to enjoy it so I'm not going to knock it. If you or your little ones enjoyed the first one, you will most likely enjoy this one as well.
