No Good Deed is a movie written by Aimee Lagos and was directed by Sam Miller who has previously directed a bunch of TV shows. The cast for this film includes Idris Elba, Taraji P. Henson, and Leslie Bibb.
Idris Elba's character is a man who is in prison for murder and generally being a mean guy. After being denied parole because he still can't help being mean, he decides to break out of prison so he can do more bad stuff. Since the movie's marketing people really pushed audiences to look for a big twist at the end of the movie, I began wondering what the big moment might be. Maybe he's not a bad guy after all and he's actually going to expose the real bad people or maybe he ends up running into someone even more bad than him and there's a big action thing at the end!
Unfortunately, the story plays out in the most basic and bland way possible and not even the awesomeness that is Idris Elba can save it from heading straight to the bargain bins. Sure, there's a twist at the end and a thing is revealed, but I didn't feel like it was much of a surprise as the film makers pretty much walk you right into it from the very beginning. Should you see this movie? Not unless your only purpose is to see lots of Mr. Elba topless as he does manage to change his shirt about 83 times before the movie is over.
