Fantastic Four is a movie by director Josh Trank and the people at 20th Century Fox Studios. The film includes Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, Toby Kebbell, Tim Blake Nelson, and Reg E. Cathey.
The Story:
This is sort of an origin story of the Fantastic Four and Dr. Doom although it varies quite a bit from the source material. Basically, we do see how they get their powers along with all the typical stuff about the government wanting to use them and how the kids rebel against authority and end up forming a team of super heroes. Oh, and one of them ends up being the bad guy because he is corrupted by power and so on and so forth.
The Review:
I really don't want to waste much time on this movie so let me just say that it is really bad. The story is horrible, the casting was just all wrong, the acting gets lost in all the nonsense, and you can really tell that the studio heads jumped in and ruined what might have been an otherwise watchable film. Seriously, the first half of the movie actually is pretty solid and reasonably entertaining, but there is a very noticeable point where the wheels fall off and the whole thing goes off the rails, plummets down a cliff, and blows up into a bunch of incoherent pieces that never had any hope of being put back together.
I will say the special effects are actually pretty decent, but that's about it.
The Verdict:
Do not go see Fantastic Four.
You're welcome.
If you do for some reason choose to see the movie, pay attention to Kate Mara's hair and the blatant disregard for accuracy and/or continuity.
Natural hair = original shoot
Horrible wig = Studio mandated reshoots
