From the Official Press Release:
Northwest Film Forum, proudly celebrating 20 years of fostering and inspiring independent film and community, presents the 18th annual Local Sightings Film Festival, from September 24 – October 3 at Northwest Film Forum and the Grand Illusion Cinema in Seattle. Local Sightings is the Northwest's premier showcase of new regional films, putting homegrown talent in front of Seattle audiences and connecting artists from Alaska to Oregon in a 10-day celebration.
Artistic director Courtney Sheehan says, “Local Sightings is a platform for the remarkably vibrant growth of the independent film community in the Northwest. The regional focus allows us to convene a totally distinctive array of films and people: Bruce Bickford, Lynn Shelton, Aham Oluo, Oscar winner TJ Martin as a juror, Kshama Sawant as a panelist, and first time filmmakers alongside established artists debuting their latest work in the US after prestigious world premieres. This is what Local Sightings is about: facilitating artistic growth by connecting films with audiences and filmmakers with each other.”
The full schedule, including all feature films and shorts, is available at nwfilmforum.org.
