The Peanuts Movie - Movie Review

The Peanuts Movie, directed by Steve Martino, brings the classic franchise that features Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and friends to a new generation of movie goers. The movie features the voice talents of Noah Schnapp, Kristin Chenowith, Rebecca Bloom, Noah Johnston, Hadley Bell Miller, Venus Schultheis, and Mariel Sheets.

The Story:
As a new school year begins and a cute red headed girl moves in to the house across the street, Charlie Brown (Schnapp) has high hopes that his never ending run of bad luck might finally come to an end. Meanwhile, Charlie Brown's trusted companion Snoopy is on a mission to bring down his arch nemesis, the Red Baron once and for all.

The Review:
My biggest fear about this movie is that the creators would try to modernize and change everything in hopes of capturing the short attention span of the younger audience, but the end result was quite the opposite and a very pleasant surprise. It seems that the utmost attention was paid to every detail in an effort to capture the heart and soul of what made Charles Schultz's characters so beloved in the first place. The movie was made with 100% computer generated 3D animation although it still has the same look and feel as if it were hand drawn just more lush and vibrant than ever before.

The Verdict:
One of the things that has always been so endearing about any Peanuts cartoon is that the stories are simple, fun, and can be enjoyed by any one and any age group. Thankfully, the writing team of Bryan Schulz, Craig Schulz, and Cornelius Uliano stick to this formula and we are treated to a story that is as equally heart warming as it is entertaining. The Peanuts Movie is a must watch for any fan and a great opportunity to see good old Charlie Brown and all of his friends as they continue their every day adventures.
