The 2016 Portland Film Festival, one of the "coolest film festivals in the world", is back with a slate of films, events, workshops, and parties that any film fan would fall in love with. After taking a look at this year's lineup, I've put together a selection of movies you won't want to miss out on.

In addition to these great original films, there will be a series of anniversary screenings that includes classics like The Man Who Fell to Earth, Aliens, The Fly, Logan's Run, and Blue Velvet.
The festival has over 218 hours of movies, comedies, independents, documentaries, shorts, music videos and more. Guests can attend workshops, networking opportunities, parties, talks, classes, behind-the-scene tours and red carpets. Plus, enjoy craft beer, specialty food, and all kinds of bands and musicians. All films will be screened at the Laurelhurst Theater and this year's festival headquarters is located right around the corner at the Cardinal Club.
The Portland Film Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing filmmakers and audiences, and to celebrating the power of a good story. The festival focuses on the people, ideas, technology, skills and artistry behind film making and provides both entertaining and educational opportunities to the public and filmmakers.
