The Little Hours (SIFF 2017) - Capsule Review

The Movie: The Little Hours

The Director: Jeff Baena

The Cast: Aubrey Plaza, John C. Reilly, Molly Shannon, Alison Brie, Dave Franco, Kate Micucci

The Story: A young servant fleeing from his master takes refuge at a convent full of emotionally unstable nuns in the middle ages.

The Review:
Jeff Baena's comedy plays like a small, indie film yet the star studded cast elevates it to something much more than that. While Dave Franco plays the central character in the story, it's really all about the three nuns (pictured above) played by Plaza, Brie, and Micucci who pile on the laughs the whole way through. In a lot of ways, this is a very unique comedy and not without its flaws, but definitely worth checking out.

The Little Hours is an official selection of the 2017 Seattle International Film Festival.
