The Beguiled - Movie Review

The Movie: The Beguiled

The Director: Sofia Coppola

The Cast: Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Elle Fanning, Oona Laurence

The Story: During the Civil War, a wounded soldier is given refuge in a school for girls and he ends up in the middle of awkward rivalries and sexual tension.

The Review:
So, The Beguiled is easily one of the least entertaining movies I have watched this year. The story is meaningless and painful to watch. Coppola tries to create tension by having the teen and pre-teen girls compete for Collin Farrell's attention, but it just comes off as weird and really awkward. Farrell seduces each of them in some fashion although his motives are never explained so you really have no ides what he was getting at. None of the characters have any depth to them and I didn't are one bit about what happened to anyone in the movie. For me, this movie was quite simply an unnecessary waste of time.
