The Review:
Every year, there is one movie that all the critics fall head over heels for while I am left with quite an opposite feeling. May I present to you this year's recipient of this dubious distinction, The Favourite. I have only walked out of one movie, ever. Don't worry, this was not it. The reason I stayed is because I love Emma Stone. She is amazing and I will watch her in any role in any movie from beginning to end. As far as the movie goes, I felt it was an overly indulgent and highly arrogant bit of Oscar-bait film making that is exactly the type of pointless, high minded material the elder portion of the Academy voting body loses their shit over.

You might love this movie, or at least like it. I have friends who did and do. If you want something positive, I will say this. The cinematography is absolutely beautiful. That's it. That's all I've got.
