The Review:
Yes, I know this movie looks like it could be a real dud and in some respects it is, but gosh darn it, I enjoyed the heck out of it. There is nothing surprising with this movie, the story is exactly what you expect it to be and the roster of characters are about as cookie cutter as they can be. Where the movie excels is with the creatively elaborate and intensely executed puzzles. Of course some of the characters don't make it all the way through so there is always a real sense of danger and some truly frightening moments to be had. The down side is the ending which gets so convoluted and high reaching that it loses all steam and becomes the laughable mess I thought it was going to be from the beginning. Still worth watching though.
