Annabelle Comes Home - Movie Review

The Movie: Annabelle Comes Home

The Director: Gary Dauberman

The Cast: Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Mckenna Grace, Madison Iseman, Katie Sarife, Michael Cimino, Samara Lee, Steve Coulter

The Story: While babysitting the daughter of Ed and Lorraine Warren, a teenager and her friend unknowingly awaken an evil spirit trapped in a doll.

The Review:
Over the last few years, the Conjuring Universe has become a viable and entertaining series of movies that has enjoyed consistent box office success, all of it centering round the history and stories behind a gathering of haunted items. The primary Conjuring movies have been based on real life ghost hunters Lorraine and Ed Warren and they finally get a chance to shine, or at least their house does, in the Annabelle spin off franchise. The Warrens have a good amount of screen time, but the story primarily revolves around their daughter Judy Warren, her babysitter Mary Ellen, and friend Daniela Rios.

Conjuring curator James Wan and director Gary Dauberman take full advantage of all the haunted items that have been collected in the Warren's house over the years by creating a really fun house of horrors vibe. Once Annabelle and her demonic posse are unleashed on the unsuspecting kids, the movie becomes a non stop thrill ride filled with creepy creatures around every corner and bucket loads of jump scares to keep you on the edge of your seat.

The Verdict:
Annabelle Comes Home is a lot of fun. It's scary, it's creepy, it's a little campy, and takes the Conjuring Universe to a new level of chills and thrills. Go see this in a theater with a group of friends, you won't be disappointed.
