The Review:
Okay so I have to tell you something before I get into my review. It's important that you know this before you watch the movie because I was freaking confused until I figured it out. While this movie being a part 2 in a series is considered a sequel to Line Walker, the story has no relation whatsoever to the first movie or the TV series the movies are based on. The director is the same, the writer is the same, the three primary actors are the same, but the story is totally different and the actors are playing completely different people. This is not a spoiler, I just didn't know ti because I went in blind.

If you've watched the first movie, you should know that this franchise, whether it uses the same characters or not, is setting up to be on some Mission Impossible level action with globe trotting story lines, crazy car chases, and explosions all over the place. Part of the movie takes place in Spain so of course some bulls who are running get involved in the action and end up playing a major role during one particular fight. Outside of the action, there is also an emphasis on intrigue, espionage, and characters who may be playing one side or the other or maybe even both.

Louis Koo and Nick Cheung are great together both in acting and in action and I really hope we get to see more of them in this franchise as it moves forward. I mean, I'm assuming there's going to be more, these movies are freaking fun and I really don't care if they always play different characters, the idea is actually kind of refreshing and different. It's funny to me because my descriptions and opinions of this movie are almost exactly the same as my review of the first movie although I suppose that goes for all the big franchises like this.

Line Walker 2: Invisible Spy is just like the first movie only completely different if that makes sense and I mean all of that in a good way. Director Jazz Boon is becoming one of China's go to film makers when it comes to big action spectacles and I look forward to seeing what he and the rest of his creative team have in store for us next.
