The Movie: Arctic
The Director: Joe Penna

The Story: A man stranded in the Arctic after a plane crash must decide whether to remain in the relative safety of his makeshift camp or to embark on a deadly trek through the unknown.
The Review:
A movie seems to come out like this every so often as that struggle for survival under extreme conditions seems to play well as a cinematic story as long as it's done in a compelling way with a quality cast. In this case, the cast is basically Mads Mikkelsen putting on a solo performance that adds to an already extremely impressive resume.
Outside of the performance, I was pretty underwhelmed by the movie. Arctic is basic, predictable story telling within I guess what I'll call a genre and it was hard to get emotionally invested or engaged in what was going on. I will say the cinematography is beautifully done so if you like sweeping vistas filled with snowy peaks then this is the movie for you.
