The Review:
This was a very strange film and I'm going to have a difficult time describing it because I'm quite honestly not 100% sure what happened. haha. The premise is very different than your average movie as one woman realizes somehow that tomorrow she is absolutely going to die and no one can convince her otherwise and then one by one people she crosses paths with end up having the same sort of revelation about themselves. What's the point of this movie? I'm not quite sure although it was hard not to look away at any point in time which really says a lot about the uniqueness of the movie.

There is an ethereal quality that runs through the story which is emphasized whenever each person has an epiphany about their impending doom and your left wondering exactly what it is they are seeing that provides such mortal certainty. some of the most interesting parts of the movie are in the conversations that are had between friends and family members because they eventually show how trivial some of the ideas and beliefs are that we give such importance in our day to day routines. There's definitely a fair amount of philosophical exploration in the movie although even that is done in some very abstract ways.

The one thing I feel could have been punched up even more is the cinematography and overall look of the film like it should have been even more stylized than it was to complement the weird nature of the story. I mean, there was some real potential here to go all out. Maybe not Nicolas Cage all out, but all out in a more mind blowing way. Within the stylization that the movie does have, there's some interesting messaging, some of which I'm still processing and some more obvious like live every day to the fullest and don't take stuff for granted. That's really just the tip of the iceberg though. We also get to learn some very interesting stuff about dolphins and that's all I'm going to say about that.

The Verdict:
She Dies Tomorrow is an exploration of life and death  that I would describe as a slow burn, methodical weed high although I was envisioning more of a bugged out acid trip when I sat down to watch it. Still though, the experimental nature of the movie made it was worth watching even if I had more questions than answers. Might just have to watch it again.
