The Review:
So, I originally wrote a one sentence review and left it at that and then I thought, you know that's kind of lazy, let me expand on that a bit so here we are. To start off, I did not like the movie. I really didn't like anything about it. I wanted to, I love the franchise, I just feel like the pain of watching an older Keanu Reeves and an older Alex Winter playing Bill and Ted exactly as they were so many years ago was just painful and totally took away any feel good nostalgia intentions that could have helped the movie be at least a little entertaining.
Is it really possible to not like a Keanu Reeves performance especially as he revisits one of his most iconic roles? Absolutely yes, it is possible. Even the additions of Samara Weaving who I love and Brigette Lundy-Paine to the cast as Bill and Ted's daughters totally flopped. They were just horrible like one of the really bad SNL skits that you fast forward to get to the good stuff bad. I honestly sat here and tried to think of anything I might have liked about the movie and honestly couldn't come up with anything. There's a post credits scene and even that was unnecessary, horribly put together, and drawn out way too much longer than it ever should have been.
With apologies to everyone involved with making this movie, I did not like it at all. I will say this. Some people have said they really enjoyed the movie and had a great time watching it so don't take my opinion as the end all be all and maybe you'll like it if you give it a shot.
