Director Ema Ryan Yamazaki joins the Changing Directions podcast series to
talk about her documentary Koshien: Japan's Field of Dreams. Yamazaki hits a home run with this highly entertaining documentary
about the annual high school baseball tournament that is considered to be the
biggest sporting even in Japan.
Being a lifelong baseball fan and Mariners fan, I found this documentary to be
a fascinating look into the world of Japanese baseball and when I found out
that director Ema Ryan Yamazaki is a die hard Ichiro Suzuki fan, I knew that
she would be a perfect guest for the podcast. We had a great chat about the
documentary, about baseball, and about how Ichiro has inspired her to do great
things. Thank you for listening and I hope you enjoy the conversation we had
about movies and baseball.
Changing Directions is a podcast interview series focused on diverse
and emerging filmmakers who are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for
women and people of color while creating amazing films.
