The Movie: Chile '76
The Director: Manuella Martelli
The Cast: Aline Küppenheim, Nicolás Sepúlveda, Hugo Medina, Alejandro Goic
The Story: Chile, 1976. Carmen heads off to her beach house. When the family priest asks her to take care of a young man he is sheltering in secret, Carmen steps onto unexplored territories, away from the quiet life she is used to.
Capsule Review:
Manuella Martelli's second feature film is a tension filled thriller that might have you looking over your should as you watch it wondering who might be hot on your trail. Aline Küppenheim gives a standout performance in the lead role as a woman entering a world of 70's era espionage. This is more of a slow burn drama than any type of action movie so keep that in mind as you prepare to watch.
