Argo - Movie Review
To this point, Ben Affleck has had quite an illustrious career not only as an actor, but as a director and writer of movies going all the way back to his original collaboration with Matt Damon with the Oscar winning "Good Will Hunting". "Argo" is a movie that will be considered a cornerstone piece to the overall body of work he has produced to this point.

Total Recall (2012) - Movie Review
Everyone is familiar with the original Total Recall which featured Arnold Schwarzenegger in one of his most iconic performances. Adapted from a short story by Phillip K. Dick, Paul Verhoeven was able to create a campy science fiction adventure that really grabbed audiences at the time. Now, Colin Farrell is put in the lead role and director Len Wiseman is tasked with bringing a whole new version of the story to the screen.

Disney is hoping that "John Carter" will be a very successful and popular movie that can then become a franchise with the potential for several future installments. Based on a story that has a very rich history as a series of science fiction novels written by Edgar Rice Burroughs, this movie is based on the first novel which was titled "Princess of Mars".

Red Tails - Movie Review
'Red Tails' has been a pet project of George Lucas for many years and he has finally been able to bring this story about African American World War II pilots to the screen. Their story of segregation and succeeding against impossible odds is one that deserves to be told and now audiences have the chance to learn about one of the most important, yet little know aspects of this pivotal time in world history.

Drive (2011) - Movie Review
Up and coming director Nicolas Winding Refn, who hails from Denmark, has made a very bold statement with his first mainstream Hollywood effort. Best known previously for his direction of critically acclaimed films like Bronson and Valhalla Rising, Drive will definitely get his career going full speed ahead as he brings us a story full of understated drama contrasted by brutally intense action sequences.

Contagion - Movie Review
There seems to be a lot of hype about the quality of this movie partly due to the star studded cast featuring Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburn, Jude Law, and Kate Winslet just to name a few. Director Steven Soderbergh also adds a large credibility factor due to previous critical successes that he has brought to the screen including the likes of Traffic, Erin Brockovich and his breakout feature Sex, Lies, and Videotape. All of this quality star power both in front of and behind the camera should certainly have Contagion primed for some award season honors down the road, but after watching this movie I walked out of the theater with a differing opinion that what I had already heard and read.
