Cinderella - Movie Review


Cinderella is Walt Disney Studio's latest live action adaptation of their beloved animation catalog. The movie was directed by Kenneth Branagh and stars Lily James as the title character along with Cate Blanchett, Richard Madden, Helena Bonham Carter, Nonso Anozie, Stellan Skarsgård, derek Jacobi, Ben Chaplin, and Hayley Atwell.

Les Misérables - Movie Review


Les Misérables, adapted from one of the most popular musicals ever created, is a movie that fans will adore as all of the appropriate notes are hit (pun intended) by Oscar winning director Tom Hooper and a cast filled with superstar talent. The original story comes from the Victor Hugo novel of the same name which was written in 1862 and is widely considered one of the greatest novels of its time.

Dark Shadows - Movie Review


Its become pretty standard for Tim Burton to make a highly stylized film featuring dark and mysterious characters played by the likes of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter so there should be a certain comfort level for audiences when viewing "Dark Shadows". I expected it to be quirky, dark, humorous, and a little off and for the most part that's about what I got, although more of one than I was actually hoping for.

The King's Speech - Movie Review


I normally try to not to use adjectives of either extremely high or low praise in these articles so as not to seem like an overblown advertisement or come off like a monster truck commercial. That being said the one word that comes to mind when I think of this movie is “brilliant”. The writing, the acting, the cinematography…everything about this film is so well done there’s no other fitting descriptive.
