12 Years a Slave is based on the autobiography of Solomon Northup, a free black man who was kidnapped and forced into slavery for over a decade. This moving story was adapted for the screen by John Ridley and the movie was directed by Steve McQueen. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Fassbender, and Brad Pitt lead a cast jam packed with Hollywood heavyweights.

X-Men: First Class - Movie Review
With Matthew Vaughn taking over the X-Men franchise, people were wondering what to expect from the man most people only knew as the guy who had directed "Kick-Ass" which, to me is one of the best super her movies ever made. If nothing else, audience could be assured that this would be a whole new direction for the mutant anti-heroes.

Shame - Movie Review
Steve McQueen is quickly becoming one of the hottest directors anywhere with a style of film making that is redefining the cinematic experience. McQueen's debut feature, 'Hunger', shocked audiences with a brutally honest portrayal of imprisoned protesters during a hunger strike and Michael Fassbender's performance in the movie was universally praised. With 'Shame', the duo look to continue their success with an intimate look in to the life of a man dealing with personal demons as he takes in his troubled sister and her own set of issues.

Hunger (2008) - Movie Review
Hunger is based on the true story of Bobby Sands as he leads a group of Irish Republicans on a hunger strike while being held in a Northern Irish prison. The main reason to watch this film would be to see the performance given by rising star Michael Fassbender. This is a very intense and powerful exhibition that shows just what he can be capable of in addition to playing larger scale blockbuster roles.
